Dr. Joel Roskind Retires from Medical Practice to Pursue Instructing

Joel Roskind is retired from plastic surgery, but busier than ever offering know how reaped from thirty-year work to physicians and medical pupils. As a surgeon, Dr. Joel Roskind specialized in body enhancements, but he also made a point of acquiring multiple interests in the medical area, giving broad knowledge and perspective which he now plans to leverage as a lecturer and consultant

Joel Roskind approaches medicine from a multidisciplinary and humanitarian perspective. Joel Roskind also served in the U. S. Navy as part of a three-man plastic surgery team, and during that time he traveled to Mexico to do surgery on deprived children with cleft lips and palates.

He has previously instructed at Boston University, the Nassau University Medical Center, North Shore University Hospital, University of California, San Diego and Cornell Medical School. He is also the former Voluntary Clinical Assistant Professor or Surgery at the University Of Miami School Of Medicine. He assisted in the U. S. Navy as part of a three-man plastic surgery team, and during that time traveled to Mexico to do surgery on underprivileged children with congenital deformities.

Dr. Joel Roskind will also draw on his clinical experience to instruct Integrated Problems at Boston University. The course will cover complex problems in differential diagnosis, a subject with which he is intimately familiar. Dr. Roskind also brings a wealth of know how in practice management, which deals with business aspects of medicine, such as hiring and training staff, setting up electronic systems and patient relations.

Fulfilling the trust that patients put in their physicians has always been a top priority for Dr. Joel Roskind. He feels that he can continue to contribute to best practices and patient safety in a broader and more comprehensive way through his occupation as a lecturer and advisor. When he is not lecturing or consulting, Dr. Joel Roskind plans to pursue a personal interest in Judaic studies.
